State-owned National Fertilisers Limited (NFL) has announced its entry into the production of nanoliquid urea, a step aimed at leveraging advanced nanotechnology to enhance agricultural efficiency.
In a regulatory announcement, the company revealed plans to produce a new, highly effective nanourea variant at its Nangal facility. The plant is set to manufacture 1.5 lakh 500-ml bottles of the product daily.
To ensure the product meets market needs, NFL is conducting comprehensive field studies to evaluate the effectiveness and acceptance of existing nanourea options.
According to the NFL, nanourea offers better nutrient absorption and releases nitrogen at a slower rate, making it environmentally sustainable by reducing greenhouse gas emissions caused by nitrogen loss.
As the largest urea producer among Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), NFL is diversifying its offerings by adding innovative and eco-friendly fertiliser solutions to its portfolio, which already includes fertilisers, seeds, and crop protection products. This move aligns with the company’s goal to address the unique requirements of Indian agriculture.
