New Delhi / Bengaluru: The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to jointly develop a fully indigenous Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based system. The project will also involve Indian startup Indy Astra, combining military expertise, academic research, and industry innovation. Focus on Self-Reliant Defence Capabilities The collaboration is part of the Indian Army’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and aims to strengthen India’s self-reliant defence capabilities. By leveraging domestic research and technology, the initiative reduces dependence on imported systems in critical defence areas.
