Government Steps Up Measures to Curb Non-Essential Spending The decision comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage prudent and judicious use of public resources. As outlined in an official Office Memorandum dated September 19, 2025, no expenditure on gifts during festivals is permitted with immediate effect. This instruction underscores the commitment to eliminate non-essential expenses in government functioning.
