The Government of India has increased the number of Indian Police Services (IPS Recruitment) to be held from the Civil Services Examination for the year 2020. Earlier, where IPS officers were to be appointed on 150 posts, it has now been increased to 200. This information has been given by the Central Government.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has given information about this in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 15 March 2022. During this, the Ministry of Home Affairs also informed that an exercise has been taken to expedite the process of appointment of IPS officers in the State Police Service in Telangana.
Information was given by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Lok Sabha that 20 police officers have been appointed by promotion in the Telangana State Police Service. Union Public Service Commission had sought online applications for Civil Services Examination 2020.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday announced immediate recruitment to fill 80,039 vacancies in the state government. In the state assembly, the Chief Minister said that the notification for recruitment in government departments will be implemented from today itself. Rao said that on filling up of 80,039 vacant posts, an additional financial burden of seven thousand crore rupees will come on the exchequer.
He also announced that the state government has decided to raise the upper age limit by 10 years for all direct recruits other than recruitment for uniformed services like police.
