With the extreme rise of Covid 19 cases, the Maharashtra government has imposed various strict restrictions in the wester state till 1 May. The step has been taken under the ‘Break the Chain’ campaign to reduce the spread of the virus.
The restriction will be in invoked from 8 am on 22 April to 7 am on May 1. With new guidelines being imposed in the state, all the government offices (centre, state, local administrative), except emergency services related to the coronavirus pandemic, will be open only with 15 percent attendance.
Under new guidelines, weddings ceremonies can only be celebrated among 25 people. It should also be celebrated under one wedding hall and within a time period of two hours. Violators will have to bear a fine of Rs 50,000.
All the private vehicle owners in the state have been restricted to only step out in the case of urgency or emergency services. Also, 50 percent out of the total seating capacity in the vehicle is allowed. Apart from this, the government has also restricted inter-district and city movement unless in certain cases like a funeral or medical emergencies. Traveling through local trains has also been restricted under the new guidelines.
Till now the state has recorded the highest number of Covid 19 cases in the country with 3.96 million positive cases and more than 61,000 deaths.
