Govt. employees can avail Leave Travel Concession facility till September 2022

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has allowed a relaxation in Central Civil Services (LTC) Rules 1988 and extended its period for two years. Given the extension, now the government employee can avail the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility till 25 September, 2022. This scheme allows them to visit Northeast states, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands by air.
Minister of state for the development of North East Region and Prime Minister’s office Dr. Jitendra Singh said that LTC for visiting these states can be availed instead of hometown. The government has also eased the choice of airlines and with this the government employees can choose any private Airlines. They are not bound to travel only by state-owned Airline ‘Air India’
Along with it the facility to travel by air for non-entitled government officials will also be available for visiting the mentioned states and union territory. Under the norms of this scheme they can travel in economy class by any airlines and with maximum fare limit of LTC-80 scheme.
Union minister pointed that this facility is available for every government servants except those who are posted in their home town only. They can’t use the LTC to visit Jammu & Kashmir or other mentioned areas instead of their Hometown LTC during these four years.
