PM Modi Greeted IFS Officers For Serving The Nation On IFS Day 2020

PM Narendra Modi along with many ministers and All India Services officers took to Twitter to commemorate the occasion of IFS Day, which is being celebrated on 9 October 2020.

Indian Foreign Services (IFS) was established by the Indian government on 9 October 1946 for India’s diplomat, counselors, and commercial representatives overseas. However, IFS Day is celebrated on 9 October every year since 2011 to commemorate the day the Indian Cabinet created the IFS.
Greeting the IFS officers on 9 October, PM Narendra Modi tweeted “On IFS day, greetings to all #IndianForeignService officers. Their work towards #ServingTheNation, furthering national interests globally are commendable. Their efforts during Vande Bharat Mission and other COVID related help to our citizens and other nations is noteworthy.”
External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar on the occasion of IFS day said “On #IFSDay, extend my best wishes to Team MEA. We have always risen to the occasion; current challenges call on us to do even more. Your dedication and diligence is especially appreciated in the COVID times. Our adapting to virtual diplomacy has also been commendable.”
Many IFS officers also congratulated other officers and celebrated to be a part of the esteemed service.
