Failed in 10th & 12th, Becomes IAS in First Attempt

IAS Anju Sharma had failed in pre-boards in class 10th and economics paper in class 12th. However he got distinction in the rest of the subjects.

But in those difficult times, her mother consoled her and kept motivating her.

She tells that at this time she also learned a lesson that one should not depend on the last minute for studies.

Anju says that in the pre-board exam, I had a lot of chapters to study and I studied at the last minute. I started getting nervous because I was not well prepared.

Anju Sharma says that people remember you for your success and not for your failures. This life event shaped his future.

After this, she already started preparing in college and became a gold medalist in her college. She completed B.Sc. and MBA from Jaipur.

With this strategy, she passed the UPSC exam in the first attempt. She had already completed the syllabus and thus made it to the list of IAS Toppers.

She is a 1991 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre. She started her career from Rajkot as the Assistant Collector.

At present she is the Principal Secretary in the Department of Education. She has also been the District Collector in Gandhinagar.
