IAS officer Who Was Afraid of English

UPSC aspirants, who studied in Hindi medium, are often afraid of the English language in their preparation.

In such a situation, a exam like UPSC, considered as one of the toughest exams, becomes more difficult for them. The same happened with IAS Abhishek Sharma, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir.

When Abhishek came to Delhi to prepare for the civil services exam, he too was afraid of English. But he did not lose heart and persevered.

Then in the year of 2007, he secured all India 69th rank in UPSC exam. Abhishek says that he was faced with the reality of civil service for the first time after coming to Delhi.

He had joined a coaching institute in Delhi. He failed in the interview even after clearing the mains. Abhishek says that in the second attempt interview, I was apprehensive about the English language.

Then, he chose Hindi medium for the interview. After this I gave the third attempt. After qualifying Mains, I started reading English newspapers. This made my English very good.

Abhishek says that in the third attempt, I gave the interview in a very normal way, I was asked very difficult questions. I put my good experience to good use.
