IPS Officer Who Failed 4 Times But Keeps Alive His Aim

IPS Gauhar Hasan had only one aim in life, to pass the coveted UPSC. In this journey, there were many failures, but Gauhar did not give up.

Gauhar, who was an engineer by profession, after failing four times, became IPS by bringing 137th rank in UPSC in his 5th time. And fulfilled his dream to join civil services.

The story of Gauhar Hasan, a resident of Motihari town in East Champaran district of Bihar, is heartening.

Gauhar says that his journey to UPSC was a long one. Sometimes negative thoughts used to come, then famous Urdu Poet Mirza Ghalib's poetry motivated me.

When Gauhar was studying in graduation, he decided to join civil service. Then, he started preparing for UPSC CSE in the last year of graduation.

Gauhar reached the mains & interview in her 4th  attempt. But failed to make it to the final list. He had been preparing for six years. But he decided to prepare for the seventh year & succeeded in his fifth attempt.

Giving advise to UPSC aspirants, Gauhar says that keep your study to the limited materials. Because, it is better to revise from the books you have read than to study from many more books. This will help in getting good marks in the exam.
