Soldier of Fit India Mission

On 29 August 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Fit India Mission in the country. It has been supported by many eminent personalities.

Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer Dr BVRC Purushottam also started going to office by bicycle in support of Fit India Mission.

Dr. Purushottam, Secretary, Cooperative, Fisheries and Rural Development Departments, travels a distance of 16 kilometers by cycle from home to the secretariat every day.

He cycles 20 kms everyday in the morning and 40 to 50 kms on off days.

The objective of his initiative is to spread the message of being fit as well as making the lifestyle eco-friendly.

Dr. Purushottam, an IAS officer of 2004 batch, has always loved riding a bicycle. To say that he has a passion for cycling would not be an exaggeration.

Perhaps that's why he is very fit even today. According to Dr. Purushottam, Uttarakhand is the best for cycling.
