A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. A 2011-batch IRS officer Sahil Seth has conclusively demonstrated effectiveness of the saying in fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. The second wave is yet not over and the fear of the third wave is already looming large. In such a situation, the Joint Commissioner of GST Mumbai has suggested several measures for people from all walks of life, to help one fight and defeat this epidemic.
While told Indian Masterminds, that he has been urging everyone to stay fit and healthy if they want to keep the Covid infection at bay. He believes that maintaining good physical and mental health should be the topmost priority of every individual right now.
MEASURES TO AVOID THE DISEASE
A native of Punjab, Mr. Seth says, “The basic foundation of healthy living is a proper diet. If you take a balanced diet that contains all the nutrients, it will help in the overall development of your body.”
A colourful food contains all the vitamins and minerals needed by the body. It boosts the immune system and helps fight the viruses in the most natural way. Apart from a proper diet, he says, it is also important to have at least 2-3 liters of water daily to keep the body hydrated and regulates the body temperature. Proper consumption of these solids and liquids can build a strong immune system that fights against the virus effectively.”
Along with this, he also told Indian Masterminds about the effectiveness of the vaccine with respect to fighting the Covid 19. He urged everyone to take the jab. “All anti-corona vaccines are designed to help you fight the disease, but no vaccine can claim to stop the virus attack completely. Therefore, instead of relying solely on vaccines, we have to focus on keeping ourselves fit and healthy.”
FITNESS MANTRA
So what is his fitness mantra? “Daily exercise and yoga is the most important thing. I strongly recommend everyone to include these in their life. I go on daily morning walks, do yoga regularly and also pay special attention to my diet. In the era of Covid 19 where people are mostly at home, physical activities have been restricted. This has hindered the normal functioning of the body parts. Home workouts, yoga practices, and general household tasks should be part of your daily routine to ensure their regular movement.”
Sahil says that physical activity plays a big role in releasing the happiness hormones in the body. Not only this, it will also make your mental state better and stronger.
HONORARY ADVISOR
He further said that people should adhere to the Covid protocols and stay healthy at the same time. Even a small effort by each person in this fight can make a big difference.
Sahil Seth was also appointed as Honorary Advisor to the Steering Committee for the ‘BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry’ (CCI) last year. He will hold this position for a period from 2020 to 2023. The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a consortium of five major national economies (India, China, Brazil, Russia, and South Africa), established in 2009.
