To eliminate the drugs from country a campaign has been launched by IRS officer Sameer Wankhade in association with Sneh Shilp Foundation at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Under the initiative titled ‘ Aarambh’ , Gift City Run 2023 was organised. Hundreds of men, women and children participated in the run. Glimpse of which was shared on social media by journalist Meena Das Narayan. In her tweet she congratulated the officer for his well thought initiative.
The “Shilp आरंभ – Gift City Run 2023” was inaugurated in the presence of Union Cabinet Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala and Cabinet Minister, Government of Gujarat Mr. Rushikesh Patel on 26th February. Mr. Wankhede shared pictures from the program. He tweeted, “This is a great initiative to encourage us towards drugs-free-future and fulfil the dream of our Hon PM and Hon HM for Nasha Mukta Bharat. Vande Mataram.”
Let it be noted that after the cruise drug case Mr. Wankhede’s who is Additional Commissioner, extended tenure with the NCB ended on December 31, 2021. He was then sent back to his parent organisation DRI, that functions as an investigation agency under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
