Wildlife never cease to amaze and mesmerize us with their movements and activities in mother nature’s lap. And, sometimes, they teach us life lessons, too. A lesson on history of mankind was taught to us by two dangerous snakes.

1989 batch IFS officer Susanta Nanda shared a picture of the two snakes on Twitter, which went viral. In it, two snakes, a python and a king cobra, are seen intertwined to each other. And, interestingly, both are dead! It is scary as well as heartbreaking.

Till now, more than 3.84 lakhs people have seen this tweet, 1927 people retweeted, and almost 9 thousand netizens liked it.

Mr. Nanda shared the picture with these words of wisdom, “The python suffocated the king cobra while the king cobra bit it. Both snakes died, one from asphyxiation and the other from the venom. And that is how we people destroy each other. History is witness to such madness…”

Curious to know more, people are commenting on this post. One person asked, “Do snakes kill each other?” To which Mr Nanda replied, “Yes. Snakes that eat other snakes are called Ophiophagus, a term that quite literally means “snake eating.” The king cobra is infamous for its diet of other snakes. They feed on the same prey base, so by actually eating one of them, they are removing the strongest competitor.”
