If you’re asking someone about an address and he replies, ‘Naina’, you will be confused, right? You might wonder if he is referring to a name or song. IRS officer Anjani Kumar Pandey had a similar experience once. He shared that hilarious incident from his social media handle.
Once he went to a shop in Prayagraj and asked for something. The shopkeeper replied, “Naina”. His reply surprised Mr. Pandey. He couldn’t make anything out of it. He wondered if the shopkeeper is singing some song. He asked again and again which kind of irritated the shopkeeper. “Naina, why are you asking again and again and wasting my time”, said the shopkeeper.
Finally, Mr. Pandey understood that the shopkeeper meant ‘Nahi Na’. That was the time the officer realised that there is difference between Naina in general and Naina in Prayagraj. He shared this hillarious incident on his social media handle and said, “Such words are common in Prayagraj. It might confuse others but difference is understood by their local language scientist”.
अंततः उससे दोबारा पूछने पर उसने… pic.twitter.com/0TZ3o41dPA
