Cannabis is largely illegal in India. The NDPS Act prohibits the sale and production of cannabis resin and flowers, but the use of leaves and seeds of the plant is permitted, and states have the power to regulate and form state specific rules.
But, in many countries, cannabis is legal. 1996 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre, Mr. Arun Bothra, has shared an interesting post on it. He visited a Cannabis shop in Barcelona, Spain. The owner of the shop is from Uttar Pradesh, India, and he even offered the officer ganja chocolates which the latter politely declined.
Mr. Bothra posted on X, “Saw this shop in Barcelona yesterday. The owner is from Kanpur. He offered some Ganja chocolates as free sample. Refused with thanks 😅”
