In a minor reshuffle on the eve of Independence Day, the state government of Gujarat issued transfer and posting orders for seven bureaucrats. According to the notification issued by General Administration Department (Personnel) the transferred officers include the 2003-batch IAS officer P Swaroop. He has resumed his duty after long term training in abroad. Now, he has been appointed as the new municipal commissioner of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, the previous municipal commissioner of Vadodara N. B. Upadhyay will take up the post of Secretary of Cooperation, Animal Husbandry and Cow Breeding. The 2004 batch officer is replacing the 1997-batch IAS officer Manish Bhardwaj. Mr. Bhardwaj will now take up the full –fledged charge as Secretary of the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department. Earlier, he was holding the additional charge of this department.
Another significant change is the transfer of 1988-batch officer Anuradha Mall who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority. Now she has been transferred as the Director General of the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) replacing KM Bhimjiyani. While, Mr. Bhimjiyani (2004 batch) has been appointed as the Settlement Commissioner and the Director of Land Records, Gandhinagar relieving Harshadkumar R. Patel. A 2005 batch officer, Mr. Patel has now been assigned with the additional charge as the CEO of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority until further notice. He is currently the Commissioner of relief and Ex-officio Additional secretary of Revenue Department.
