UPSC CSE-2022 Results Out: Top 4 Places Captured By Girls, Ishita Kishore AIR 1

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of Civil Services Exam-2022. Ishita Kishore has topped the prestigious exam. Garima Lohia and Uma Harathi N are second and third, respectively.

Women candidates once again excelled securing the top fourt positions in UPSC CSE. There are six women in the Top 10.

The top 25 successful candidates consisted of 14 women and 11 men, with diverse educational backgrounds ranging from engineering to humanities, medical science and commerce.

The topper Ms Ishita Kishore who belongs to Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, is a graduate in economics from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She worked in Ernst & Young and contributed to their risk advisory department.

Ms Garima Lohia, who stood second, is from Buxar, Bihar. She is a Commerce graduate from Kirorimal College, University of Delhi, with Commerce and Accountancy as her optional subject.

While Ranked 3, Ms Uma Harathi N, is a B.Tech. graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT, Hyderabad, Telangana, with Anthropology as her optional subject in UPSC. Ms Smriti Mishra who got 4th rank, has a B.Sc. degree from Miranda House College, University of Delhi, with Zoology as her optional subject in UPSC.

A total of 933 candidates have been selected for the service this year, which is bigger in comparison to last year’s results which saw a total of 685 selected candidates. While in UPSC CSE-2020, a total of 761 candidates including 545 men and 216 women, had been selected.

The prestigious UPSC CSE-2022 preliminary exam was held on June 5, 2022, and the results of the examination were released on June 22. The main examination was held from September 16 to 25, 2022, and the results were declared on December 6, 2022. The Interview round conducted in three phases, which began on Janaury 30, 2023 were concluded on May 18, 2023.

As many as 11,52,000 candidates applied for the country’s most prestigious UPSC CSE examination, out of whom 5,82,770 appeared in it. A total number of 13,090 candidates qualified for the Main (written) exam. Of them, 2,529 candidates qualified for the Interview, which means only 19.3% of candidates qualified for the Interview round.

How to download the UPSC CSE-2022 Results

Step 1: Visit the UPSC official website – upsc.gov.in or https://upsconline.nic.in/
Step 2: On the homepage, click on Final Result – Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2022 link available on the home page
Step 3: The final result in the pdf format will appear on the screen
Step 4: Check the Result and Roll number and download the page, For search Press keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F & search your name or roll number
Step 5: Qualified candidates can keep a hard copy of the same for further need

This year, out of the 1,011 vacancies, 180 vacancies are for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 200 for Indian Police Service (IPS), 37 for Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and 92 for Indian Revenue Services (IRS). There are also 150 vacancies for the newly introduced service – the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of the most prestigious and toughest examinations in India, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit suitable candidates for 17 civil services of India including IAS, IPS, IFS, and other allied services.
