New Delhi: Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT(ISM) Dhanbad to launch a pilot project titled “Harnessing the Role of Digital Upskilling to Empower the Next Generation.” The program aims to provide digital skills training to 1,000 students in government schools across Dhanbad district.

The MoU signing was attended by Surendra Bhushan, Head of Department (CSR), BCCL, along with the company’s CSR team, and Prof. Shashank Bansal, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies & Industrial Engineering, IIT(ISM), Dhanbad.
Project Objectives
The pilot initiative will focus on:
- Equipping students with essential digital skills
- Enhancing academic performance through technology-enabled learning
- Preparing students for future career opportunities in a digitally-driven world
- Promoting technological literacy and problem-solving abilities among youth
The project will initially cover 10–20 government schools across the Dhanbad district, directly benefiting 1,000 students.

BCCL officials emphasized that this initiative aligns with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mission. By fostering digital literacy and skill development, BCCL aims to empower the next generation and strengthen educational outcomes in the region.
