Deradune: In a major push to infrastructure and public utility development across Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions amounting to nearly ₹242 crore for a wide range of projects covering urban infrastructure, riverfront development, road reconstruction, bridge construction, flood protection, ropeway safety, police infrastructure, public buildings and civic amenities.
The approvals cover schemes under the state plan, the urban infrastructure framework, departmental construction works and strategic projects linked to tourism, disaster mitigation and urban expansion.
₹109 crore cleared for UIDDB-led strategic urban projects
A major portion of the approved amount – ₹109 crore – has been sanctioned for projects being implemented through the Uttarakhand Urban Infrastructure Development Board under the Planning Department.
These projects include:
- Sharda Riverfront Project
- Haridwar Master Plan
- Rishikesh Ganga Corridor
- other urban infrastructure schemes
These projects are expected to strengthen urban planning, riverfront aesthetics, tourism connectivity and civic infrastructure in major urban centres.
Road reconstruction and improvement works approved across multiple districts
Under the state plan, the Chief Minister approved several road improvement and reconstruction schemes across hill and plain districts.
Pauri Garhwal projects
- ₹3.15 crore for reconstruction and improvement of the Godi Bajoon motor road in Kot Development Block under Pauri Assembly constituency.
- ₹3.28 crore for reconstruction and improvement of the Kota-Devprayag to Vyasghat motor road in the same block.
Dehradun district bridge replacement
- ₹12 crore sanctioned for construction of a 60-metre span, two-lane Class-A loading box-girder bridgereplacing the damaged single-lane bridge at the 18th kilometre of State Highway No.1 on the Mussoorie route.
Udham Singh Nagar road work
- ₹2.47 crore approved for hot-mix reconstruction of the road connecting Rudrapur Chhatarpur to Bhurarani village via Shanti Vihar.
Safety assessment approved for ropeway project at Mansa Devi hill
The government has approved ₹46.89 lakh for rock and soil stability analysis of Mansa Devi Temple hill.
The study will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee as part of safety measures linked to the ropeway project connecting:
- Har Ki Pauri
- Maa Chandi Devi
- Maa Mansa Devi
- Multi-Modal Hub
This analysis is considered critical before further implementation of the ropeway system.
Police infrastructure receives major financial support
Several police-related infrastructure projects have also received approval.
Haldwani IGP office expansion
- ₹1.62 crore sanctioned for construction of a new office block in the IGP Camp Office complex at Haldwani.
The building will house:
- Head Clerk office
- Confidential Assistant office
- Reader branch
- Junior Engineer room
- CCTNS unit
- Cyber cell
- Media cell
- Grievance cell
IRB campus projects in Dehradun
At the IRB 2nd Battalion campus in Dehradun:
- ₹3 crore approved for four Type-II and four Type-III residential quarters
- ₹9.77 crore approved for a 240-bed barracks facility for constable training
₹76.35 crore revised financing approved for Satpuli Barrage
Following recommendations of the Expenditure Finance Committee, the Chief Minister approved revised financing of ₹76.35 crore for the Satpuli Barrage project in Pauri Garhwal through NABARD funding.
The barrage falls within Dwarikhal and Ekeshwar development blocks.

Pithoragarh district
- ₹79.98 lakh for Rauda-Pankhar road in Dharchula constituency
- ₹58.16 lakh for interlocking-tile light motor vehicle road to International Bridge and Jhulaghat Police Station
Bajpur, Udham Singh Nagar
- ₹57.96 lakh for 600-metre concrete road in Shivpuri Mazdoor Basti
Champawat district
- ₹2.62 crore for Chalthi-Naulapani road improvement under PMGSY
Lohaghat region
- ₹55.57 lakh for trekking route from Reetha Sahib to Wildlife Sanctuary via Bhidar
Khatima advocates and government buildings also included
Khatima advocates chamber
- ₹80 lakh approved for permanent advocate chambers through Khatima Advocates Association.
State Guest House maintenance
- ₹7.53 crore approved for civil, electrical maintenance and renovation of State Guest House and Circuit House Annexe.
Urban civic works under finance commission and urban infrastructure fund
Haridwar district
- ₹1.58 crore approved for Nagar Panchayat office building in Imlikhera.
Waste transport vehicles
- ₹3.92 crore approved under State Urban Infrastructure Development Fund for waste transport vehicles for local bodies.
Kaladhungi streetlights
- ₹1.49 crore approved for installation of streetlights in Kaladhungi Municipal Council area.
Loktantra Senani Samman Rashi approved
The Chief Minister also approved Loktantra Senani Samman Rashi at ₹20,000 per month for Kanta Devi, wife of late Lakhan Singh, resident of Haldwani.
The payment will be effective from April 26, 2024, the date of application submission.
Large-scale approvals signal district-wide infrastructure acceleration
The approvals span tourism, urban planning, roads, police modernization, civic facilities and heritage-linked infrastructure, indicating a broad district-level push ahead of future development cycles in Uttarakhand.
