Mr. Kundan Krishnan, a 1994-batch IPS officer, has been relieved from central deputation to rejoin his home cadre in Bihar. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification regarding his transfer on Monday. Currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) in the CISF, Mr. Krishnan is set to resume duties in his native state.
Hailing from Nalanda district, Mr. Krishnan previously served as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna during the President’s rule in 2005. Known for his resolute policing, he gained attention in 2002 as Saran SP when he led an operation with an AK-47 rifle to subdue a violent uprising at Chhapra jail, where 1,200 inmates had taken control, pelted stones, and seized police weapons.
