Senior diplomat Mr. G Balasubramanian (1998-batch Indian Foreign Service officer) has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Maldives. Currently serving as the High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Balasubramanian is expected to assume his new role shortly.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “Mr. G Balasubramanian, presently High Commissioner of India to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Maldives.“
Mr. Balasubramanian will succeed Mr. Munu Mahawar (1996-batch IFS officer), who has been serving as the High Commissioner to the Maldives since November 10th, 2021.
