IAS officer Sonal Goel today delivered a powerful speech at the Global Convention of the Institute of Directors (IOD) held at the House of Lords, UK. Speaking on “Corporate Governance Meets Public Governance: Partnerships for Social Inclusion, Impact, and Sustainable Development,” she highlighted India’s initiatives under Prime Minister Modi, including Digital India, Ayushman Bharat, and renewable energy goals like the 500 GW non-fossil fuel target by 2030.
The 2008-batch IAS officer emphasized collaborative efforts between public and private sectors to address global challenges, citing the Clean Ganga Project and International Solar Alliance as examples. Ms. Goel also praised the Indian diaspora’s contributions to strengthening UK-India ties.
Encouraging purpose-driven governance, she concluded her address with Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “The future depends on what we do in the present.” The event featured discussions with luminaries like Lord Karan Bilimoria and Ms. Baroness Verma, further emphasizing partnerships for a sustainable future.
