As the Covid 19 situation in India is getting worse, the central government has issued some vaccination protocols for people of the age group of 18-45. After 1 May, people above the age of 18 will be eligible to use the Covid vaccine. Registration for the same will start on 28 April.
For this, the government has made it mandatory for people to register online on the Co-Win platform and wait for appointments as walk-in as walk-ins will not be permissible, at least at the beginning of the new inoculation drive.
Despite getting a good response for the walk-ins in the 60 plus age group and 45 plus group, the government expects a big rise in the number of vaccine registration for the third phase. Therefore, with the new protocols walk-ins will not be permissible for the third phase of Covid-vaccine in India.
The Centre issued an advisory to states asking them to augment infrastructure and suggesting specific measures for the phase 3. Despite publicizing the “only online registration” for 18-45 age group, the Centre suggested that states should register additional private vaccination Centres (CVCs) in mission mode by engaging private hospitals, facilities in industrial establishments and industry associations.
