CM Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has approved the application for Voluntary Retirement (VRS) of 1987 batch IAS officer Renuka Kumar from the Indian Administrative Service. Instead of returning to UP from the central government, Renuka Kumar had sought VRS from the government in August. Renuka Kumar was to retire in June 23.
Renuka Kumar, an IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs on central deputation. In July last, the central government had issued an order to end his central deputation and return him to his original cadre. Instead of coming back to Uttar Pradesh, Renuka Kumar had applied for voluntary retirement from the IAS in August last. The Chief Minister has approved his VRS application.
Renuka Kumar is a 1987 batch IAS officer. She was posted as Secretary in the Minority Welfare Department at the Centre. She had gone to the center on 30 June 2021 from UP. He was suddenly relieved for Uttar Pradesh on July 28, 2022. It is being told that only after this he had applied for VRS. His retirement is in June 2023. Renuka Kumar’s husband Sunil Kumar is also posted in Delhi.
