The 2007 batch IAS officer Mr. Manish Kumar Verma, the newly appointed DM of Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) district, is again in news. This time, he started sweeping the collectorate office himself. The DM did Shramdaan (a voluntary contribution to any physical activity) for cleanliness in the Collectorate premises and gave a message to the officials to keep it clean. Seeing the DM cleaning, there was a stir among the officers and all the officers got involved in cleaning.
The District Magistrate reached the Collectorate premises at 8 am and performed shramdaan to maintain the cleanliness system. All the officers including Deputy District Magistrate Sadar Ankit Kumar and Municipal Magistrate Greater Noida Umeshchandra Nigam etc were present on this occasion. After Shramdaan, the DM inspected the premises and also gave instructions to the officers, that special focus should be kept on the water drainage and cleanliness system in the campus, there should be no water-logging anywhere.
WHO IS MANISH KUMAR VERMA
Mr Manish Kumar Verma has taken over the post of Noida DM in the month of February this year. He had replaced Suhas LY. Subhash LY, who was the DM of this corporate city for the last three years. While Mr Manish was earlier posted in jaunpur as the DM.
39 year old Mr. Verma originally hails from Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. He passed the prestigious UPSC CSE exam with 61 AIR in 2011. He completed his graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, one of the most prestigious institutes in the country. He was working in Deutsche Bank when he started preparing for UPSC exams. He started his administrative career as a Probationary Magistrate from Pilibhit. After that he was Chief Development Officer in Mathura and Pratapgarh. Before Jaunpur, he was the District Magistrate of Kaushambi.
This is his second posting in Gautam Budh Nagar. Earlier, he was posted as Additional Chief Executive Officer in Noida Authority in the year 2017 for 15 days. Then, he was transferred once again as the District Magistrate of Kaushambi.
Talking about his personal life, he is son-in-law of flamboyant IPS officer Rajkumar Vishwakarma, the Director General of Uttar Pradesh Police.
