A one-day workshop on skill development for substance abuse was organised by Dr. Pritpal Kaur IPS who is the Superintendent of Police, Longleng district, Nagaland. The workshop was organised on May 22, 2023.
Addressing the programme, IPS Kaur shared that drug is a slow poison and urged the addicts to live clean and start changing their lifestyle. She said they should be the role model for the other addicts and make the best use of this training opportunity.
Longleng District User’s network and Office of the Superintendent of Police Longleng have come together to start this initiative in order to help the addicts reform their lives by giving them different skill development trainings, SP Kaur shared with the media.
The initiative will not only change their lives but also provide a source of income for them, who are mostly unemployed and daily wage earners. The addicts will be given various skill trainings by different trainers daily and the products they make will be sold in local markets. The money. earned will be used to pay their children’s school fees and other basic necessities.
