The Union Public Service Commission’s declaration of the UPSC CSE-2022 results on 23rd of May, announcing the selection of 933 candidates in which Noida’s Ishita Kishore notched the top spot, continues to remain in the headlines with many an extraordinary tale of successes.
Adding to it, IAS officer Ramesh Gholap shared a tweet that since have gone viral.
The 2012 batch officer of Jharkhand cadre, Mr Gholap, who is working as Director Industries of the state talked about society’s reaction and mean mentality after the results came out.
In his first tweet from a lengthy thread, he said, “Keep fighting, keep falling and keep moving forward….
What will People Say? This thinking has become an obstacle in the progress of many people. I had read a story told through a picture. A husband and wife were walking along a path carrying a donkey. In the first picture, the husband, wife and the donkey all three were walking.”

In his second tweet, he said, “Seeing them people said, ‘ What a fool he is? If you had to go on foot then what is the use of a donkey?’ In the second picture, both of them were going on a donkey.
As usual, now people said, ‘How cruel people are, both are sitting on a donkey. None spared a thought about that poor animal.”
In the third picture, the wife was sitting on the donkey as the man walked alongside. To which the onlookers said, ‘Look, look what a slave he is to his wife”.
In the fourth, the husband was sitting on the donkey, the wife walking along. “How selfish!’ Wife walking on foot and he is riding the donkey,” they slammed.
“The thing to understand is that some people have the habit of thinking only negative and taking out evils. Do not pay attention to them. These people do the work of obstructing the efforts of many skilled youth,” he stated in his next tweet.
“The path of life has to be chosen by oneself and one should travel on that path by being honest with oneself. If I feel that what I am doing is right and for the benefit of the people, then I should accept it and move forward.”
“Just like there are people who call wrong things wrong, similarly there are many people in the society who call right things wrong and propagate them wrongly. You will find them everywhere. Without arguing with them, keep moving forward, keep doing your work.”
