TN: Two IAS Transferred, P. Ponniah Made Director, Rural Development

The Tamil Nadu state government has issued transfer orders for two IAS officer. Senior IAS officer Thiru P. Ponniah and S. Sivarasu has been assigned with new roles.

Mr. Ponniah has been appointed as the Director, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj. He is a 2009 batch officer and was earlier posted as Director, Municipal Administration. According to the order, post of Director of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj has been created as a temporary post on in the Senior Scale of IAS for a period of one year under Rule 4(2) of IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954.

On the other hand,Mr. Sivarasu has been made Director, Municipal Administration in place of Mr. Ponniah. Mr. Sivarasu was earlier serving as Joint Commissioner of Revenue Administration. He belongs to 2011 batch and Tamil Nadu cadre.
