In a recent incident at Manvat police station in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district, a constable and a head constable found themselves being assigned the task of trimming grass as a disciplinary measure. The penalty was imposed due to their tardiness, arriving 30 minutes late to a holiday court.

According to senior officers, the two policemen were part of a night patrol that apprehended two individuals for suspicious behavior in Manvat on the early morning of October 22, a Sunday. The detainees were slated to appear before the holiday court at 11 am.

However, the policemen, accompanied by the suspects, reached the court at 11:30 am, provoking the displeasure of the judicial magistrate. The magistrate took issue with their delayed arrival.

Expressing their discontent with the unconventional punishment, the constables reported the matter to their superiors. The incident was officially documented in the police station diary on October 22, and a comprehensive report was forwarded to higher-ranking officials within the department.
