IAS officer Vijoy Kumar Singh has been appointed as Special Chief Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Mr. Singh is an IAS officer of 1990 batch who was recently repatriated to Punjab from his central deputation. He will be taking the position in place of Mr. Venu Prasad who retired as Additional Secretary. The position was vacant since July after the retirement of Mr. Prasad.
Mr. Singh was serving as Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare at Centre. He has also served as special secretary in the ministry of textiles and Joint Secretary at the Department of Personnel & Training.
