The 2004 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Esha Srivastava has been appointed as the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for her appointment.
She will be on this post for an overall tenure of five years upto March 19, 2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ms Srivastava had served in the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO in Paris and in the Indian High Commission or Embassy in Sri Lanka and Bhutan. She has also served in the Ministry of External Affairs as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Europe West Division, and Director. Her last assignment was as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Thimphu.
She completed her post graduation in Political Science (Honors) from Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University. She is the recipient of the prestigious Dr Karan Singh Gold Medal for topping Delhi University at post-graduation level.
