The iconic Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) witnessed the commencement of the 30th Joint Civil-Military (JCM) Training Programme on January 15, 2024. This intensive 13-day course stands apart, placing a laser focus on critical dimensions of national security and the vital role of a “whole of government” approach in safeguarding the nation.

The program brings together a diverse group of participants, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Probationers, officers from the Armed Forces, and police personnel. This carefully curated mix fosters valuable cross-disciplinary engagement, allowing participants to gain insights into each other’s perspectives and operational realities.

Based on the Kargil Review Committee’s recommendations, the JCM program promotes civil-military partnership to elevate the cause of national security via unity and collective power.

Committed to national security, it exemplifies stakeholder collaboration and shared vision. With 57 officers from 26 services and organizations, including 7 women officers, it epitomizes the idea of “civil-military synergy.”

The primary goal of the JCM training program is #desiloization, with the goal of creating both a Viksit Bharat and a Surakshit Bharat. This course has been carefully designed to support a collaborative effort toward the achievement of common goals and to promote effective coordination.

Mr. Sriram Taranikanti, Director of LBSNAA, addressed the attendees and emphasized the synergistic function of Civil, Defense, and Paramilitary Services. Faculty from academies training various services are also participating, with the goal of creating a multiplier effect.
