IAS officer Suhas LY, a former District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar and a renowned para-badminton player, has etched his name in sporting history once again. He secured a gold medal at the BWF World Championship, 2024 being held at Pattaya, Thailand by defeating Fredy Setiawan of Indonesia in Finals. He has solidified his position as the most decorated IAS officer in the country in terms of badminton achievements.

This victory adds another feather to LY’s already impressive cap. He is the only IAS officer in India to have won a Paralympic medal, having secured a silver in the men’s singles SL4 category at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of sports.
