Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy (1991 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer), affectionately labelled as an anti-corruption crusader, set the bar high for all bureaucrats by performing a record number of duties – 38 as Central Observer of the Election Commission of India, including duty as an International Observer in the 2018 Zimbabwe Elections. This development took place after he enrolled on an assignment in the Mandla Parliamentary Constituency in Madhya Pradesh – one of the very few constituencies in this country that is spread over four districts – Mandla, Dindori, Seoni and Narsingpur.

Officer Swamy won laurels for his activism as the District Collector of Idukki when he brought a sitting Minister to book against his illegal encroachments. The matter garnered immense attention as IAS Swamy became the first bureaucrat in the country to submit a report that cost a minister his ministership.

In 2021, he won the coveted Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship from George Mason University for his acumen in intellectual property law. In 2018, Dr. Swamy received the Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award from IIT Kanpur for his professional integrity in upholding human values. On top of being an illustrious civil servant, Dr. Swamy is a gifted writer whose talent was recognised when he won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Travelogue for Santhimantram Muzhangunna Thazvarayil.

Raju Narayana Swamy has a B.Tech from IIT Madras in computer science and engineering, a PhD in law from the Gujarat National Law University, and a PG Diploma from the National Law School, Bangalore, and an LLM from NLU Delhi, both with gold medals!
