In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed seven officers to various ministries and departments at the Joint Secretary level. This move is expected to bring a fresh wave of expertise and leadership to key governmental functions.
Sachidanand Prasad (IP&TA&FS:1994) has been appointed as Secretary of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of AYUSH. He will serve until his superannuation on December 31, 2027. This appointment cancels the previous appointment of Binod Kumar (ICAS:1993) as Secretary of NCISM, which was issued on February 9.
Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS:2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Yadav, currently serving as Home Secretary of the UT administration, Chandigarh, will serve a combined tenure of seven years until September 12, 2028. He will replace M Balaji (IAS:2005).
Kamlesh Kumar Mishra (IRTS:2003) has been appointed as Joint Secretary of the Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs for a five-year tenure.
Mukta Shekhar (IRAS:1994), previously serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre. Pradeep Kumar (IP&TA&FS:1995) will replace her, serving until his superannuation on March 31, 2026.
Shersha (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs until his superannuation on October 31, 2025. He will replace Shahnawaz Alam (IP&TA&FS).
Pankaj Yadav (IAS:2001) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, with a tenure lasting until October 30, 2027. He will replace Karma Zimpa Bhutia (IFOS:1997).
Vinod Kumar Tripathi (IRSE-Civil: 1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, serving until his superannuation on December 31, 2027. He replaces Ms. Ruchika Chaudhry Govil (IRS-IT:1990).
