Chandigarh Home Secretary Nitin Yadav, a 2000-batch IAS officer from the Haryana cadre, has been transferred to New Delhi on central deputation. He will assume the role of Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
The transfer orders, issued by the Government of India on Thursday evening, state, “Nitin Yadav is appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years up to September 12, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Mr. Yadav was nearing the completion of his three-year deputation period in Chandigarh, which began in September 2021. During his tenure, he also briefly held the additional charge of UT Adviser following the voluntary retirement of the previous adviser.
Mr. Yadav’s transfer to the central role in the Department of Commerce reflects his significant contributions and experience in administration. His new role is expected to leverage his expertise to further the objectives of the Department of Commerce on a national scale.
