NTPC Kanti Launches Pioneering Mobile Medical Unit to Boost Maternal and Child Healthcare

The newly launched mobile medical unit will cater to 42 villages surrounding NTPC Kanti, directly benefiting around 10,000 villagers.

NTPC Kanti recently unveiled a pioneering mobile medical unit aimed at enhancing maternal and child healthcare in the region, marking a significant advancement in its CSR initiatives. Situated at NTPC’s Muzaffarpur-based power plant, which generates 390 MW at Kanti.

The newly launched mobile medical unit will cater to 42 villages surrounding NTPC Kanti, directly benefiting around 10,000 villagers. Equipped with a skilled healthcare team comprising two doctors (one male and one female), a nurse, two paramedics, and a dedicated driver, the unit aims to meet critical healthcare needs, particularly for pregnant women and newborns in underserved communities.

Madhu S, Head of Project at NTPC Kanti, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “The launch of the Mobile Medical Unit represents a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to support local health needs. Our focus on maternal and child healthcare underscores our commitment to social responsibility and proactive community engagement, aiming to build a healthier, more resilient society.”

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including NTPC Kanti’s GM (O&M) Tapas Saha, AGM (HR) Maheshkumar Suthar, department heads, and representatives from neighboring villages. Their participation reflects collective dedication to improving healthcare access in the region.

Operating over the next four years, this project aims to reduce healthcare disparities and enhance the overall quality of life for residents, symbolizing NTPC Kanti’s transformative role in community development.
