8th March, every year is marked as a very special day. A day of empowerment and equality. A day when every woman feels proud to be born, the way she was, to be brought up, the way she was; and especially proud of the struggles she faced to get to where she is now.

We celebrate International Women’s Day today to salute our sheroes who have been fighting their own struggles since they were little and have been winning each one of them. Let us respect them, stand with them, and empower them.

Women are being celebrated today, by the entire world including some of the most prominent figures from India. In accordance with this year’s theme “#ChooseToChallenge, several VIPs of the nation have garnered the strong and beautiful women of the country with praises and best wishes.

Let us take a look at what the Prime Minister, President and other important figures of India have to say, this International Women’s Day.

Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the indomitable ‘Nari Shakti’ and congratulated the various accomplishments of women.

Ram Nath Kovind

The President of India and the Commander-in-chief of the Indian Armed Forces, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind greeted the fellow citizens of India on women’s day while resolving to promote gender justice and eliminating inequality.

M. Venkaiah Naidu

The vice president of India saluted women through a beautiful couplet and resolved to eliminate gender biases from the country.

Rajnath Singh

The Defence Minister of India posted two different tweets celebrating women and their participation in the security and defence architecture of the nation.

Amit Shah

The Union Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah bowed to the female power symbolizing courage, valour and dedication.

The citizen engagement platform of Government of India – MyGovIndia took to twitter to congratulate several women of the nation who have done us proud. Alongwith that, the platform has also announced their ‘Rani Mistri’ training initiative that will empower the rural women of the country.
