Madhya Pradesh: Tourism Corporation Sanctions Investment Of Rs. 37 Crores To Enhance Tourism Infra Of Chambal Region

The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Corporation, in collaboration with the Gwalior Smart City Development Corporation, is set to revitalize tourist attractions in the Chambal region with a significant investment of Rs 37 crore. The preliminary aim of this drive is to enhance facilities and attract more visitors to the area, particularly focusing on the rural tourist spots.

The development plan includes improvements at three major tourist destinations within the Gwalior-Chambal division: Padavali, Mitawali, Bateshwar, Ater Fort, and Nareshwar in Morena district. Additionally, Rs 17 crore will be allocated to enhance tourism facilities in the Phoolbagh zone, with a special focus on the Motimahal Museum, which will receive Rs 10 crore for upgrades.

Breakdown of Investments by Location

(1) Mitawali:

Investment: Rs 2.19 crore;

Improvements: Enhancements to tourist facilities, including the establishment of food kiosks to offer local cuisine.

(2) Ater Fort:

Investment: Rs 2.10 crore;

Improvements: Development of visitor conveniences such as toilets, food kiosks, and parking facilities.

(3) Nareshwar:

Investment: Rs 2.69 crore;

Improvements: Comprehensive infrastructure development including road construction, toilets, food kiosks, parking areas, guard rooms, an information centre, landscaping, a water system, gazebos, benches, pathways, and an audio guide system.

(4) Kakanmath:

Investment: Rs 2.26 crore;

Improvements: Similar enhancements as Nareshwar, focusing on creating a welcoming environment for tourists.

This strategic investment in Chambal’s burgeoning tourism infrastructure is poised to transform the region into a more attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists. By improving essential facilities and promoting local heritage, the initiative aims to boost the local economy and encourage sustainable tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
