In a significant move to reward the hard work of its staff, the Union Cabinet has approved a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for approximately 11.72 lakh non-gazetted railway employees. The decision allocates an impressive amount of ₹2028.57 crore, which will equate to 78 days’ wages for eligible workers.
This annual bonus, typically disbursed before Durga Puja, serves as recognition of the employees’ dedication and performance throughout the year. The payment will benefit a diverse range of railway staff, including Train Managers, Loco Pilots, Station Masters, technicians, pointsmen, and various ministerial staff.
The PLB is an essential part of the Indian Railways’ efforts to incentivize productivity and acknowledge the contributions of its workforce. As the festive season approaches, this financial support will undoubtedly provide a welcome boost for many families.
