Mr. Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, a 1988-batch IRS-C&IT officer and Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), has initiated a nationwide rollout of the Behavioral Sensitization Program during Karmayogi Saptaah/National Learning Week. This program has begun with 52 batches across all 32 CBIC zones.
The initiative aims to enhance the skills of approximately 35,000 officials, including Inspectors, Superintendents, Assistant Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners, through specialized Behavioral Sensitization Training. An external knowledge partner has been brought on board to help design and implement the training, ensuring it is both comprehensive and impactful.
The active participation of all zones, alongside NACIN and ZTIs, is crucial for the successful execution of this initiative. By emphasizing behavioural skills and sensitivity, the program aims to foster a more responsive and empathetic approach to governance, ultimately improving service delivery and public interactions. This effort underscores CBIC’s dedication to continuous professional development and effective policy implementation in alignment with the broader objectives of the Karmayogi initiative.
