IRS Purshottam Tripuri & 2 Other IRS Officers Were Appointed Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax

All three officers will continue to manage their current roles until their formal postings are announced

Three IRS (Income Tax) officers have been appointed in situ to the position of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT), in level 17 in the pay matrix, for the panel year 2024.

They are:

  • Mr. Purushottam Tripuri (1989-batch IRS IT officer);
  • Ms. Harshvardhini Buty (1989-batch IRS IT officer);
  • Mr. Satish Sharma (1990-batch IRS IT officer).

As per the notification, all three will continue to manage their current roles until their formal postings are announced. It’s important to note that the first two officers will reach the superannuation age in March 2024 and July 2024, respectively, while Satish Sharma is set to retire in August 2026.
