Mahesh Chand Bairwa, an officer of the Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS: 2009), has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (M/o DoNER) for a period of five years. This appointment follows a recommendation by the Department of Defence Production for his central deputation.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, the competent authority has approved Bairwa’s selection under the central staffing scheme. His tenure will last for five years or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
The appointment of Bairwa to the post is seen as a significant step in the central government’s ongoing efforts to boost the development of India’s northeastern region, focusing on areas such as infrastructure, governance, and socio-economic growth.
