Jaipur police have apprehended Sarvesh Kumawat, a conman from Ujjain, for impersonating an IRS officer to deceive over 25 women. The investigation was led by Vidyadhar Nagar Police Station SHO Rakesh Khyalya, following a complaint from one of Kumawat’s victims. Kumawat allegedly posed as a 2020-batch IRS officer and often introduced himself as the Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
He reportedly targeted women employed in government positions, building trust before inventing stories about his bank account being frozen to extort large sums of money. During his arrest, authorities recovered a fake Ministry of Finance ID identifying him as a Deputy Manager. Kumawat was detained at a hotel while attempting to meet another potential victim.
