Chandigarh: Hargunjit Kaur, an IAS officer from the Punjab cadre, was officially relieved from her duties in the Union Territory (UT) administration on Thursday, following the completion of her three-year deputation. During her tenure, Kaur had served in various significant roles within the UT of Chandigarh, contributing to key administrative functions.
In a related development, 2013 batch IAS officer Nishant Kumar Yadav, the current Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the UT of Chandigarh, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary, Industries.
Further administrative changes have been announced, with Anuradha S Chagti, a senior officer from the Central Secretariat Service (CSS), now assigned the charge of Special Secretary, Finance, in addition to her role as Director of Treasury and Accounts.
These changes are part of the ongoing efforts by the UT government to streamline governance and ensure efficient handling of key administrative functions.
Kaur, who had worked on a deputation basis in the UT for three years, is now set to return to her home cadre in Punjab. Her tenure in the UT administration was marked by several key initiatives aimed at improving governance, particularly in administrative coordination and public service delivery.
