Rajni Sibal, a retired IAS officer, just released an intriguing audio-visual website for children and young adults! She explored her inner child to create stories and poetry.

Everything is enchanting about the website. A magic wand welcomes the children, who prefer audio-video storytelling that is both in English and Hindi.

FOR ALL YOUNGSTERS

According to the 1986 batch topper, The Fragrant Fables is designed to captivate young readers’ attention and engage their imaginations by taking them on adventurous journeys.

In place of the same old poems, Ms. Sibal wanted to create something that the young generation could relate to. The website has three sections: Tiny Tots, Children, and Young Adults, and updates age-appropriate poems/stories in each.

“I also wanted to capture the attention of the teenagers, so I included two short stories, one from my own book, two poems, and a very beautiful story about Guru Nanak Dev. Not only young adults but even adults may read these,” Ms. Sibal shared with Indian Masterminds.

The poems and stories are fun to read and meaningful.

INSTANT SUCCESS

The Fragrant Fables was established last week and has already attracted a lot of attention. People have expressed their admiration. Some have even stated that after hearing about the Carrot Soup poem, their children have shown interest in carrot soup, some even asking for it every day.

Ms. Sibal will be updating the page every 15 days with age-appropriate poems and stories for the young minds. “It will be an ongoing process,” she added.

ENGAGING THEM YOUNG

In future, the officer intends to involve young children who have writing talent. She will assist them in honing their talents.

“I will promote their poetry and stories on my page. And even hold small workshops engaging them in storytelling to blossom their creativity and imagination,” she shared.

ONE-STOP SHOP

Being an established author and fond of kids, when Ms. Sibal turned her focus on children, she recognized their attention span was short and fleeting so normal books will not do.

An audio-visual platform was the perfect solution as kids of all age-group prefer to watch and listen. That is how The Fragrant Fables, a one-stop shop for magical creations was born.

“I also have the stories in PDF format but presenting them in AV piques their interest. They become eager to read it after hearing or watching it,” Ms. Sibal said.

She also has fun tongue twisters on her website that both children and adults will find interesting.

GRATITUDE

Ms. Sibal has a small team to assist her. While she contributes the poems and stories, her friend’s grandchildren read, recite, and record the words, which are then shared with the team, who work on the post-production.

“This is my way of giving back to the society. I want to leave something for the children to feel happy about,” she added.
