Rescuing A College Student being Molested In a Moving Auto-Rickshaw

It was a horror on the Haryana road- a college student being molested by an auto-driver and his accomplice inside the vehicle. But thanks to the City Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharti Dabas who averted, just in the nick of time, a major tragedy.
Indian Masterminds Stories

It was cold Wednesday morning this week, when in Hisar (Haryana), a student left her home and boarded an auto-rickshaw for college., The weather had turned foggy and the visibility quite low. She got a ride, but it was not only the auto driver who picked her. The driver’s cousin was also accompanying him, and was sharing the front seat.

Things started taking the wrong turn when they deviated from the collegel track and were headed towards the Airport Chowk. No wonder both the cousins had a bad intention towards the student. The person who was sitting beside the driver lunged the back seat and started molesting the girl.

The black curtains of the auto-rickshaw were left loose so that no one could see the crime being committed inside the vehicle. According to media reports, one of the culprits told her point plack that they were going to rape her, kill her and then dump her body in a secluded place.

The girl, now completely in a state of panic, started shouting for help. And in the meanwhile, the accused kept on molesting her.

DSP RESCUING THE STUDENT

Luckily for the girl, help arrived from a completely unexpected quarter. At that very moment, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bharti Dabas was also travelling from the same route towards the women police station. What she saw put her on an alert mode; she could see a pair of girl’s feet appearing from the bottom of the vehicle’s curtain again and again.

An alert Ms Dabas overtook the auto-rickshaw, making it come to a screeching halt. Approaching the vehicle all her apprehensions were confirmed when she saw a man trying to cover the girl student’s face. Immediately, the DSP nabbed both the cousins and brought them to the police station.

The girl praised the DSP and was profusely thankful to her for having rescuing her.

Later, speaking with Indian Masterminds, Ms. Dabas said “Both the accused were arrested and have been sent to the judicial. We have completed all the legal procedures and investigation of the case is still on.”

The auto driver, a resident of Shivnagar, and his cousin are being interrogated by the police.

NO BLACK CURTAINS IN AUTO-RICKSHAWS

Ms. Dabas said, “After this incident which took place on Wednesday, an order has been issued by the Hisar Police to remove black curtains from all auto-rickshaws in the city. Maximum number of vehicles have followed the order. We have also requested the residents to immediately call the police if they see any auto with black curtains in the city.”

The efforts made by the DSP were appreciated by many. Well done, Ms Dabas!
