Nature’s Guide & Birds Watchers Training in Tal Chhapar Sanctury of Churu

A training on bird watching for bird watchers/ nature guides and a photography workshop is being held in birds haven of Tal Chhapar sanctuary, Churu on 29-30-31 December. Renowned bird watchers will be conducting theoretical and field training. The candidates have been provided lodging arrangementsby the Forest department, Churu in association with FTI.

After training, these guides will educate people about birds and also work towards protection of birds and nature. They can make career in this field and take it as hobby too.

The 2013 batch IFS officer and District Conservator of Forests of Churu, Ms. Savita Dahiya elaborating on this initiative and the workshop told Indian Masterminds, “Onset of the winter heralds arrival of migratory birds in TalChhapar. These Students will get first-hand information about these migratory birds.Bird watching trainers have come from Udaipur for this training. It also includes members of the state board of wildlife.

Some bird photography experts from Jaipur too have come to impart training in this workshop. Tourism in Tal Chhapar sanctuary has seen a spike in the last 2 years. Four new homestays have opened in the last one year with Tourism Department’s help.

She said, “Along with this, we are also going to start a Safari, for which registration has been opened. That’s why people who come here need a nature guide. The workshop will also generate employment.”

NATURES GUIDE

Stressing the need for natures guidesshe said, armed with full information on flora and fauna of this sanctuary they will explain the tourist the uniqueness of this place along with its biodiversity

40 local people and many people from all over Rajasthan have come to participate in this training.It will be necessary for the students participating in the training to register in advance.

Tal Chhapar Sanctuary, Churu

TAL CHHAPAR SANCTURY

Chhapar is a quaint village located in the Churu district of Rajasthan. Even with a known lack of rainfall, the sanctuary has protected grasslands though. Tal Chappar Sanctuary established in this region is located at a distance of around 350 km from Delhi and 200 km from Jaipur, further making it an option for a refreshing quick getaway. Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is known as the home of blackbuck and a variety of birds in Rajasthan. The sanctuary is flanked by the Great India Desert, Thar. It has tall grasses and is dotted with numerous small ponds where the rain water accumulates.

migratory birds pass through Tal Chhapar Sanctuary during September. The commonly seen migratory birds in the sanctuary are harriers, eastern imperial eagle, tawny eagle, short-toed eagle, sparrow, and little green bee-eaters, black ibis and demoiselle cranes, whereas skylarks, crested larks, ring doves, and brown doves are seen round the year. Apart from birds, desert fox and desert cat can be spotted in the sanctuary.
