Who doesn’t have Himachal in their tourism wish list. The state is filled with picturesque and scenic beauty. From adventure sports and nature’s bounty to spiritual tourism, Himachal offers everything. However, lately the state is facing problem of overcrowding in the peak tourist season. Every year the news of long traffic snarls in Manali make headlines. While the state government is working on the issue, the Director of Tourism (Himachal) Ms. Manasi Sahay Thakur believes that it is a two-way street.
She says that we are focusing on making the state more tourist friendly and expanding the commutes & accommodation. This will work only if people coming here also follow the traffic rules. Similarly, the state has a policy since 2001 to be 100% plastic free. But, it’s possible only with co-operation of the tourists and the public.
